Microblading is a semi permanent tattoo of the eyebrow. It is a very subtle enhancement of the brow meant to make the brows look as natural as possible.

During the eyebrow microblading procedure, a small hand tool is used to gently place pigment into the skin, creating hair-like strokes that enhance your natural shape, fill in gaps, and create shape where the natural hairs are sparse. The procedure takes approximately two hours, beginning with a shape and color consultation. Two different topical anesthetics are used during the procedure to minimize discomfort. Afterward, we will discuss your aftercare routine.

Microbladed eyebrows typically last between 1-3 years, depending on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. However, touch-up appointments are recommended every 6-12 months to maintain the best appearance of the eyebrows.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

One month before your procedure:

• Avoid laser treatments or chemical peels.

Two weeks before your procedure:

• Avoid receiving Botox injections.

• Avoid microdermabrasion or dermaplaning treatments.

• Stop using any retin-A or AHA products.

• Avoid Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments.

One week before your procedure:

• Avoid tanning or direct sun exposure.

Three days before your procedure:

• It is recommended to exfoliate your skin now.

• Avoid waxing or tinting your eyebrows.

24 hours before your procedure:

• Avoid alcohol consumption.

• Do not take Aspirin, Ibuprofen, or Vitamin E.

On the day of your procedure:

• Please arrive with clean, fresh skin and washed hair.

• Refrain from exercising on the day of your procedure.

• Limit your caffeine intake.

No, microblading is not painful. We are breaking the skin delicately, but we use two topical numbing creams throughout the procedure. Of course everyone's pain tolerance is a bit different, but most clients are totally comfortable and fine. You will be too!

There may be minor swelling and or irritation following your microblading procedure. With proper care, healing should take place within 5-10 days, depending on the individual. The brows will appear darker than they are going to be for the first 1-3 days after the procedure. They won't be "Groucho Marx" dark, but they will for sure be darker than the final end result. You will still be able to do your zoom meetings and go out to dinners. You don't have to hide in the house for the healing process!

I will give you Tina Davies Healing Aftercare Serum. You will use this serum twice a day for 7 days after your brow appointment. One hour after your brow appt you will apply your first, thin layer (rice grain amount) of serum per brow. You will apply a second thin layer of serum that same night before you go to bed. Be sure not to over apply the healing serum as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The product should be barely noticeable on the skin.

Starting your first 24 hours after your brow appointment, you will begin your washing instructions. You will wash once daily with Dove or Dial antibacterial bar soap. Lather the soap onto clean washed fingers, and gently wash your brows, rubbing the soap in the same direction of your brow hairs. Rinse all the soap away with cool/warm water, and gently pat them dry with a clean tissue. Make sure the brows are completely dry and then apply your Tina Davies Aftercare Healing Serum. Remember, only a rice grain amount. And don't forget to apply a second layer of serum before you go to bed. But only wash the brows once a day!

• Important instructions for showering:

• Avoid long hot showers for the first 10 days (Steam is no good)

• Limit your showers to 5 minutes so you don't create too much steam

• Keep your face and brows out of the water while you wash your body then at the end of the shower wash your hair - brows should only be getting wet at the end of the shower

• Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the brows

• Wait one week before resuming hot, sweaty exercise. If you must workout, it is recommended to wait at least 48 hours and make sure to wash your brows and remove any sweat and oils immediately after workout

• Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after your procedure - wear a hat when outside

• Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days

• Avoid face down swimming in lakes and hot tubs for the first 10 days

• Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the brows for the first 10 days, but go ahead and put your face on around the brow area

• Do not rub, pick, or scratch your brows

• Avoid Botox and other treatments on/around brows until brows are fully healed (10 days)

Clients who fall under the following categories should not/cannot undergo the procedure:

• Had Botox injections within two weeks prior to the procedure

• Have a tendency to develop keloids on the skin

• Have sunburned skin

• Are undergoing chemotherapy

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding

• Have eczema or psoriasis on the brow area

• Have moles or birthmarks on the brow area

• Have an open wound on or around the brow area

Yes you can put your normal makeup around your brows, but avoid makeup and sunscreen on the brow area until they are fully healed (7-10 days).

The ingredients are a combination of powdered pigments, glycerin, witch hazel, aqua, rosin, benzyl alcohol, and isopropyl alcohol. It is gamma-ray sterilized, vegan and cruelty-free. All ingredients can be found in the MSDS and can be downloaded from the website here.

You will first book your Initial Brow Appointment, which will start off with a color and shape consultation. At the end of the initial appointment, we will book you for your Follow-Up Appointment (about 6-8 weeks out) for any necessary touch-ups. After that, you can schedule an Annual Refresher Appointment, as needed.
